Approved EB3 WW PD 0203

Here is my long story.

My category is EB3 WW. PD 02/03. I485 filed concurrently with I140 - 05/04.
My visa category have been current many times in the past but never got adjudicated.
My file kept getting transferred.
Nov 2007 - I had interview as it got transferred to local office.
They took my APs and everything.
The officer wanted additional work info. Since then no news.
When my PD became current in October - I got an infopass whitout my lawyer to get closure.
The officer told me that 1) I am stuck in background check and 2) No Visa.
And check back in 60 days. Both reasons were invalid since EB3 WW had visa in Oct 2008
and Nov 2008 for my PD. Plus the background check has been intiated in 2005.

I went to the local congressman's office and had them contact USCIS.
Within 5 days on 11/24/08 - USCIS came back and told the congressman's office that it is on hold
not for the reason they mentioned before but for their heavy workload and check back in 90 days.

I said, "Bullsh$t" - in my head offcourse.
Luckily I know a guy who knows a senator. I had the senators offie call the congressman's office.
And that was yesterday afternoon.

This morning I got a call from the congressman's office stating that my I-485 is now approved.
I even have a "Card Ordered" email from USCIS.

Thank you for your support all these years. It has been a loooong journey.

It is truely a happy thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to All of You and may you get your papers swiftly.
If not, do not rely on your lawyers - rather take a proactive stance.
It took me while to realize it but I am happy as a free bird nonetheless.
