PD almost ready, next I 484, then what???

When PD becomes available, from reading I understand the I 484 will be done next I think, along with the EAD, but is there an interview for these or do you just send in the paperwork and they write and let you know your adjustment of status was approved or what?????

Can someone clarify the steps to be taken, possibly also with a time frame.....will it take as long as another year after already waiting almost 11yrs?

Thank you in advance for your help

When you PD is current, you need to file an I-485 (Adjustment of Status) along with I-765 if you need an Employment Authorization card. There are other forms to be filed but it depends on which basis you are eligible for Adjustment of Status, and you are not mentioning that in your post.
After you have filed it takes from 4 months to a year or more (depending on your case) and then you will receive a letter for your interview. If you pass it, they will mail you a Green Card shortly after the interview.
There are several guidelines on this and other sites that might give you an idea of what you need to do and how you need to file after your PD is current.
Good luck!
