Gap in employment on EAD/h1

Gurus,

I am curious to know your take on 1) issues in 485 processing if there are gaps in employment on EAD. ( in other words, does one have to be employed all the time on EAD.
2) what if sponsoring company does not exists/bankruptcy at time of 485 adjudication.

background: 140 apporved, 485 applied in july 2007; i have been working with same employer for last 6 years.

thanks
d

------------------once I-485 is pending one can be without a job for sometime.GC is for future job.

------------------------ your I-140 is approved and I-485 is pending more than 189 days and that makes you eligible for AC21. join new employer and invoke AC21 if you feel that company will not exists at the time of I-485 approval.

thanks
