Medical exam too early?
Hi,
my mother entered US as a vistor in July and in 10 days I have visited the immigratin doctor to get her medical exam in order. Then I realized that if we send the papers right away - this shows intent of her staying here so we did not. Now is the good time to send the application and I plan to go back to the civil surgeon and ask him to fill again the medical exam (for an additional charge of course). The questions is: should we do again the blood work or we can use the lab results from 2 months ago? Should we completely remove from the foram and documents sent any reference to July? Thanks. |

The medical exam is valid for 1 year, so you can keep the one you did 2 months ago if you want to.
If you don't want to because it will show intent of her staying in the US, ask the doctor to fill out another form with the new date, but I'm not sure if they will let you do that without making her go through another examination (and fee..).

Thanks. But the question is should I do the lab test again? or just use it (with July showing). The doctor can change all the dates except that one. A copy of the lab exam is attached to the papers.

If the doctor is willing to change all the dates except the lab test, I would use the old date for that. Having a medical examination doesn't necessarily mean you are about to file for AOS, and if the forms are dated september 09 you should be fine.
