Additional Review

My EB2 case's priority date and processing date are both current this month so I asked for a service request earlier this month and I got this reply by email this evening:

"Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time."

What does this mean? I'm really concerned.. Has anybody received anything like this? What does addtional review mean?

I also received similar response from USCIS. Here is my story. My case is EB3 with PD Oct 2001 (India). My PD was current in May and June 08. My RD is 25 Jan 2005. My namecheck was cleared in Oct 2007. So I was all set to receive decision in May or June 08. I heard nothing from USCIS. Opened a SR on 8th May and did not receive reply. So I'd to wait 45 days. The representative suggested to take infopass appointment. I did that in July and has very bad experience. The lady there was rude and did not give any information. However she opened another SR. For which I received the response saying that my case is under going additional review. However I have not seen any LUD's after Feb 3rd 2008 on my case. Feb 3rd LUD I guess many people received. So I know USCIS is not working on my case. EB3 is not current for India now so there is no way they are going to work on that till Oct. So my guess is, just to get opened SR out of way this is standard response from USCIS.

PS: In May 08 I also contacted local Senator office. I received response that everything is clear and they have requested the case to be processes.

MK, You are not alone.
I am in the same boat. Similar dates. My 485 RD is in 2003.
Did not get any reply for my 2 SRs opened in May.
All I got to hear from TSC reps several times was case is clear and is with Officer.
I guess they actually ran out of visa before they published the dates.

It does not make any sense as to why you guys are still waiting. I hope you guys get cleared on OCT 1 if not why dont you guys file lawsuit against uscis? Madamnus ...whatever they call it.

I received another letter from USCIC early Sep. This one also says case is under additional review blah blah.... However interestingly it also says that I'll get a decision in 60 days. Letter is dated late August. So with what USCIS says I should hear somthing by OCT end. However EB3 India will not be current for my PD in OCT. Also to date I do not see any LUD on my case. I don't what USCIS is going to do now.
