J-1, waiver, GC, and USCIS letter! Please help!

Hi all,

I am new and have read the archives for several forums. I would be so grateful for any assistance in how to handle my I-485 pending case. Please help!!

My Case:
95-98: J-1 (govt agency minimal funding) subject to 2 Y HRR
at the end of program returned home country and fulfilled only 18 months of 2Y HRR
then returned on F-1
have been on H1B in EB-2 category for past two years
I-140 receipt and pending I-485

USCIS requested further evidence regarding completion of 2Y HRR or waiver approval. Evidence is due very soon.

Here are my questions, please help, as I am confused about the best option on how to proceed!!

1. What is the likelihood that I-485 will be denied considering my case?

2. Can I file for J-1 waiver since govt. agency that provided funding does not exist anymore and I’m no longer on J-1? If yes, should I apply while I-485 pending? Or temporarily withdraw the I-485 (and how to go about that)?

3. Are there any other options?

4. What may be the impact on current (and future) H-1 B in my situation?
