Preserving greencard and naturalization term during foreign visits

Hi...

I got my greencard approved July 2005. I recently started my own tech company in Pakistan for which I had to leave US for about 175 days starting Aug 22, 2007. I plan on making more trips of this nature in future & I would like to do that while maintaining my greencard status as well as preserving my options for naturalization in July 2010 (5 years after my greencard approval).

Here are some questions:
- Can I make another trip outside US that lasts less than six months immediately following this trip. Can I continue making trips lasting 175 days as long as I do not exceed the 30 month absence limit (within last 5 years) for naturalization.
- Is there a limit on how much time do I have to spend in US between these 175 day trips to keep my greencard and possibility of naturalization intact.
- I intend to be careful about other issues such as 1. Keeping active bankaccounts in US 2. Filling US taxes 3. Keeping property etc

I would appreciate any input with these. Thanks in advance.

Sam

UMalik,
I would advise you to never have more than 180 days out of the US in any rolling 12 month window.
