Nothing. Just do it now.

The USCIS cares where you live now.

TEchnically you did violate the law but this probably is not that big of a deal.

Change of address

suppose a person is living in a renting house and there is possibility of changing the house address soon again , is not it better to maintain the original address?
Even that address is care of brother or sister or anyone whose address is permanent always.
is there any necessity to change the address if the person lives in the district or state itself like within CA (Sacramento or LA)?
The fear of changing the address too often is for losing important documents in mail.
Any thoughts?

You can very well do what you have asked! Normally those who apply for
GC choose an address that is permenant in nature (like their friends' house
address or brother/sister's address who have GC/Citizenship) so they don't
have to notify USCIS on moving.

Same can be applied with your current condition. USCIS just needs an address in their file for statistics purpose.

This AR-11 could have started 30-40 years ago when PR's were very few and it was easy to track them. Now that the count has gone so high that USCIS wouldn't care to keep track of each & every PR in the US.

Good luck

I just contacted my attornney and she has this comments from INS law.

"A willful failure to give written notice to the USCIS of a change of address within 10 days of the change is a misdemeanor crime. If convicted, the alien (or parent or legal guardian of an alien under age 14 who is required to give notice) can be fined up to $200 or imprisoned up to 30 days, or both. The alien may also be subject to removal from the United States. (INA § 266(b)). Compliance with the requirement to notify the USCIS of any address changes is also a condition of an alien’s stay in the United States. Failure to comply could also jeopardize the alien’s ability to obtain a future visa or other immigration benefit."

So, I just sent our change of address right away.

Thanks for your info.
