Quite a Situation with I-485..
Guys,
Im in a process of helping my cousin file for I-485 as she is adjusting her status through her US Citizen boyfriend. They have not filed for a marriage license yet but did have a wedding. The problem is, she was here on F-1 visa (with expiration date of 08/08). Apparently, she did not register for classes this month on time and now is not officially entered into her university as she missed the deadline. Now the university is telling her that she is now out of status as she did not register for classes. And technically she cannot file for I-130/I-485 until they obtain their marriage license. So does that mean that she is out of status right now? Im quite confused, as the expiration date on her F-1 says 08/08. Anyone has any knowledge in that regard? Please advise. Thanks much!
