No Receipt package sent April 07

My husband a PR sent my I130 package with fees to start my filing process. We have not recieved any receipt to indicate that they have approve/ or still processing the package. I see where they have signed for the package since April 12, 2007.

I do know that a visa number will not be available untill 2012. No Problem i have my B1/B2 visa since 2001.

Can someone also explain to me why the process is like this. My husband at the time his filing came through was my fiancee we had two children ages 5 & 6 years of age they were also added to his filing when his father started the process. We were told that because he was filed for as an unmarried child we had to wait until it came through before we could marry. So we did. When his papers came through and we went for the interview the consular told us I could not be added if we get married and I would have to wait untill he had landed in the USA before we could get married and then he could petition for me after we did that we realise I would have to wait 5 years.

So far the good thing is i can travel with them which i done several time so
far.

Any advice for a shorter wait time. Coming to america and being out of status is not an option for me.

A very weird case... how far is your husband from becoming a US citizen?

You should have called them 30-60 days without receiving a notice of action from them. Did USCIS cash the checks which your husband send with the application? If not, then there is a dead rodent under your bed.... USCIS functions to receives check from all immigrants, and highly unlikely that they will sit on your check for 6-8 months... This will be a criminal act on their part....

Thanks for the info will contact them. I know they received the package because it was signed for. Sent money order, can that be tracked? Also what would be the best contact numbers to call to find out what happening. He has three years left to become US citizen.
