What does this mean?

I am currently stuck in a Name Check (Marriage Based GC, Interview happened in Aug 04).

Over the years I've been renewing my EAD and AP (with much frustration) while every visit to the Newark Office I was always told there was no update - case is still pending the name / background check

Little over a week ago I got a notice to appear at the ASC for fingerprinting so my FBI check can be done. I gave my first set of prints back in July 04.

I am not being very hopeful yet, but does anyone know if I got called back again for FP that my case is close to being cleared. I've been waiting for a little over 3 years now and would love an end to this nightmare. Thanks,

Finger prints expire in 15 months. Since your last FP was in 04, you have bene asked to supply fresh prints. Good luck!!!

Thanks TC! I was just wondering since I would have thought they would have called me sooner for my second round of FP. Could it be possible that my case is actually being reviewed and I can expect some end to this wait? Also is waiting for 3+ years for the name / background check normal? I am worried that this is going to carry on for a while. Thanks

An optimistic interpretation would reckon that there has been some movement on your case. I wish you a speedy and favourable result!!!

The following posting was the one I was mentioning about earlier:

"Seemslike my Background check got cleared after 3 years. But need advice on followup

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have contacted my congress mans office and I got an emailt his morning with t he following content

"This is in response to the I-485 application Congressional inquiry regarding Mr.XXXX. Mr XXXX’s background name check cleared on September 27, 2007.

During the pendency of his background name check, his fingerprints expired, and he has been rescheduled for new fingerprints. He will be notified by mail once the first open slot becomes available. Mr. XXXX's case will be adjudicated immediately once his fingerprints have successfully cleared."

I am very happy that atlast my background check cleared. ?I am waiting from Aug 2004. But what ia m worried about now is eventhough USCIS got the clearence on Sep 27th I still havent heard anything from them about the fingerprints yet. Nor the LUD changed on my online account. What should i DO? Please advice. I am going on an 1 month vacation to india starting Nov 23rd and am worried i may get the notice for fingerprinting at the time when am gone. Is there anything I can do to get finger priniting done before i LEave on Nov 23."

Hope this helps
