Maternity Leave Immediately after GC

I received my 485 approval and PR Card two weeks ago. I might have to immediately go on maternity leave for 6 months (due to complications). I will not be quitting my employer, but only going on unpaid leave for 4.5 months after FMLA leave of 6 weeks. I have been with my sponsoring employer for more than 6 years and intend to continue to work for them after my maternity leave is over. I have read that a good 'rule of thumb' is to work for the sponsoring employer for atleast 6 months after 485 approval. Will my taking a 6 month maternity leave soon after GC be an issue of not 'intending to work for employer after getting green card' or create problems at the time of application for Citizenship?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.

What will you do if someone says that there will be complications with your Citizenship? Not take maternity leave?

No, I would still be taking the leave. I would just like to know if it will affect either my GC or future citizenship application.

You're not leaving the employer. So don't worry about it.

dont worry for abt it , even my wife is in her 35 th week and will be on maternity leave from monday, but she worked on EAD and GC is thro me. We got GC approval this monday only.
I dont think it will create problem in future, have medical record if they ask in future reg. this 6 mths gap.
this is related to health and baby issues ..this will create prob later.

all the best
Pray to GOd and have peaceful and normal pregnancy

I suggest keeping all your medical records, and doctor's advice on taking leave. You may need to prove during your citizenship process that your salary for one year was less than the salary mentioned on GC labor due to health reasons.

Don't worry. Keep your medical records including your OB's note that you are having problem and you need to take rest for about 6 months because of complicacy. You should be OK.

Hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.
