green card expires before naturalization final

Hi

Does this affect my ability to work? Will employers balk at this? My naturalization application N-400 is still pending. Applied April 2007 for Naturalization and didn't realize would take so long. In the process of job applications. Should I present the old card with the old date when asked? I have had to apply for a renewal card I-90 but that will take a while. Can't sleep. HELP!

According to the I-9 instructions, you can show the employer a driver's license + SSN card without the "not valid for work..." condition (list B + list C), instead of showing the GC.

If you filed your N400 six months before the expiration date on your Green Card, then you are not required to renew, else you are required to file I90 and renew it.
If you are not required to renew, follow Jackolantern's advice

Yup, it's a good reason to get your SSN card updated when you get your green card.
