EAD about to expire, necessary to renew?
Hello,
I had applied for a EAD when I applied for my greencard, I got both the greencard & the EAD. I haven't worked since recieving both documents. I've enrolled in a university and will be starting soon, I also want to utlize the "work/study" programs that my university offers. Do I really need a EAD? Doesn't possesion of a greencard, ss#, driverlicense etc. allow me to work? Don't want to renew a EAD if not necessary & waste money when I could better apply those funds for textbooks etc... Any input is appreciated. Trin

EAD is interim, until you get your green card. GC is the real deal.
