I-130 (Sister) Question and Steps

I've read a couple threads but can't find anything similar to my question.

They received the application on Feb 07, 2001 in Vermont. They are currently processing applications from Feb 05, 2001. So they're fairly close in hearing something from them but before that:

1. One of her daughters just turned 18 in late June. Now, from what I understand, if the mother gains residency, her children get it too but only if they're under 18 years of age. Would she not be able to get it or would she have to take another way?

2. After they start processing her application, what should they expect?

1) it's 21 years, not 18.

2) they are not going to do anything for about 12 years from the filing date. You shouldn't look at the USCIS dates, but at the visa bulletin on www.travel.state.gov.

DarkCloud515,
You are confusing the processing date of the I-130 with visa availability. The F4 (sibling of US citizen) category is the most oversubscribed category. An average wait of 12-15 years is the norm right now. So if the I-130 has a priority date of 2001, don't expect a GC until 2014-2016.
