parents GC question - birth/marriage cert copy

When I filed applications for my parents' GC, I sent the original affidavits for marriage and birth information by mistake (instead of sending copies). Now they're about to be called for interview and it seems they need original affidavits at the time of interview. What options do I have now?
Do my parents need to make new affidavits? If we make new affidavits, they might not be from the same people who made the earlier affidavits.

Is it possible to get copies from NVC and are copies acceptable?

I think NVC, in general, sends the entire file to consulate for interview. So consulate should have the original affidavits. You can call/email NVC and find out. You can also ask them to send you originals and copies if they do that.

However to be on the safe side you may want to
- take copies (if you have them) of the originals submitted to NVC
- get new affidavits even if they are from diferent people than before (so long as the facts in the affidavits are same)
- explain the situation to consular officer
