Post-Interview Question?

OK so my wife (my wife is applying and I am the sponsor) and I just had our green card interview this morning (very nice gentleman).

When we asked what the timing would be, he simply said that if we don't receive anything in the next 90 days, to contact him. We thought this was just standard procedure, and then was given this piece of paper with the number:

"CR6" on it (where the Alien Number should go)

and also a box checked in the section stating:

PLEASE INQUIRE AFTER 180 DAYS

"An additional review of your case is required to determine your eligibility. No additional information is required at this time."

Does anyone know what this means? Is our case being delayed or is this normal?

Many thanks.

Could be one of the follwing:-

(1) Complete A-file being awaited
(2) Adjudicating officer needs to run something by his supervisor
(3) Authenticity of a document needs to be verified
(4) Name check not complete

Wait it out and see what happens. Good luck. I hope the approval notice makes its way in the mail real soon.

Many thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry that I am not that well versed in the terms here.

1) What is the A-file? And is there something I can do to expedite the process?
2) Is this a bad sign?
3) Hmm? Is this also a bad sign? Or abnormal?
4) Name check... I've heard this before, does that mean that we have been flagged for a name check, or does everyone go through this process?

I guess the real question is, did our response / paper from our interview place us in a "flagged" category which may slow down the normal process? Is there anything we can do or is there something we did wrong?

Or is this par for the course?

Many thanks, I know I've asked a bunch of questions...
