Are we affected?

Are we -family based applicants- affected from the recent mess where they made all categories current, flooded by the applications and stopped taking new applications?

I am a U.S. citizen and applied for my wife's green card on Jun 22th. I haven't heard anything yet, checks have not been cashed,..etc. I hope our applications go through different channels.

Any idea?

I don't think we'll really be affected by this. If anything, since they stopped accepting new employment based applications for AOS, my guess is ours would go even faster, but I don't even think they go through the same channels. It takes about two weeks before your checks get cashed and you get your first notice. Did you send it certified mail and have you checked online (or received a return receipt) if your application was delivered?

The notice clearly stated employment-based only.

You're not even a family-based applicant - your wife is an immediate relative and as such is not subject to any numerical limitations.
