Officially withdrawing AOS application?
Hey guys,
As you can see from my signature, I applied for AOS last November, but due to the lightning fast processing speed of our Washington, DC district office, I'm nowhere near getting my green card (yep, still no interview letter). In the meantime, I just accepted a job offer in my home country, and my wife and I will be moving there in June. My question is, since we may want to return to the U.S. someday again (presumably through consular processing), would it be advisable to officially withdraw the AOS application (I-485) instead of having it abandoned/denied. If so, how would i go about doing that? And what about the Petition for Alien Relative (I-130)? Can we keep that going or will it be invalid anyways? Thanks for your input!

To abandon the I-485, you write a letter that you wish to withdraw yoru I-485 application due to personal reasons. Attach a copy of NOA or receipt for your forms and send it to the customer service center. If you call 1-800 number, then can let you know which address to send this to?

Also since you say you want to return to US that you, why are you considering withdrawing this application? You say you are moving to other country in June. There is still sufficient time to get this approved. Oh, I see, you are planning to live in other country and work and US wife is to live there. Oh ok. well you simply have to make the request to USCIS.
