Marriage help with affidavit of support

Hi my friend is going to marry a US citizen, they have been together 5 years and he will be applying for her to get her green card. My only concern is the affidavit of support. He works but I don't believe he has filed taxes in the past three years. Is there another way to show his income? If he is on disability and that is his only way to prove his income and it is below the income poverty line is there anything else they could do? Thanks any help would be appreciated.

I don't really know to much about what he could do, but just do what I did and have a friend or relative be a joint sponsor.

The joint sponsor would have to have an income to support 3 people right? Would the mother of the girl be able to do it, the mother is a GC holder?

Ok her mom lives in a different state, so you're saying her mom (the co-sponsor) wouldnt have to appear in any court or interviews, just sign and agree to the affidavit?

She does not have to appear. She only needs to complete the I-864 and provide her w-2's, tax transcript, proof of legal resident. Remember the husband still has to fill out an I-864 form also because he is petitioner.
If he is on disability, he must provide the letter they send from Social Security (to verify currrent income) and also provide the printout from Social Security (to verify when his benefits began) and then he is to write a simple affidavit stating that he has not paid taxes due to the fact that he is on disability. It does not have to be notarized.

If the husband cannot prove any form of income and relies soley on the co-sponsor will that be a problem when he fills out the I-864? Thanks for all the help
