New Green Card Amendment???

I heard that there is a new green card amendment regarding the minimum stay required in USA for the green card holders, and according to the new amendment the green card holder can not stay outside the USA more than 6 months as opposed to the 1 year limit. I want to confirm this news. Has anyone heard about it?

I think they are no news. I always knew about the 6-months restriction to be out of the US for greencard holders. But I also knew you could ask for a excemption/permit allowing you to stay for up to 1 year abroad as long as you provide the required documentation justifying that long abscence from the US
