Questions about I-130 and living in the US

Hi everyone. I recently found this forum and it's a great source for help and information. Thanks everybody!
I have a couple of questions, hope you can help me.
My sister will soon become a US citizen, and plans to file an I-130 for me (brother). Once her petition is approved, which I understand can take about 4 months, can I move to the US while the visa proceedings follow their course? Can I work in the US?
Thanks a lot.

Nop. Approved I 130 won't give you any status or work permit. You have to wait about 10 -12 years to get the visa number available for you and then can complete the rest of the process. Ofcourse you can try for H1.

It is Work Visa. If conpany in US is ready to sponsor you for H1 and if you qualify for that then you can get the H1 visa and get here. You can find more about it on www.uscis.gov

A non-immigrant work visa sponsored by the employer.

But it still is a non-immigrant visa? What I'm looking for is an immigrant visa.

For immigran visa thru your sister you have to wait. You can marry a USC and get immigrant visa.

If an employer really wants you, they will get you an H-1B.
