Spouse on J-1 and applying for Greencard
My wife (currently on H-4) is about to start her Residency on J-1 in summer (2 year home country presence required). I am on H1-B valid till Jan 2009 and my employer would sponsor my Greencard. My wife cannot apply for Green card on J-1, and she will have to take a waiver after 4 years of Residency and then apply for a Greencard.
Can I apply for a Greencard for myself alone now? Will it create any problems for me later.
