Already on H-1, getting married...how to get a H-4 for wife?

Hi all,

This is for a friend of mine.
Next week he's getting married to his long-time girlfriend.
She is in the US on a visa waiver visa. She will return to her home country after marriage (in city hall in NYC).

How is he going to obtain a H-4 for her?
What is the process and the form to be used?

Also my friend has a I-140 petition pending. Is that going to affect the process?

To get H4, you have to prove that your H1 Spouse can support you in the US, and that H1 Spouse has valid employment in the US. The documents they usually ask for is the H1 approval notice(original), tax returns (last 3), W2 s, employment verification letter etc (all these of the H1 Spouse). Refer to the website of the US consulate in the country she is applying the visa from for more specific details.
