travel abroad with gc

Hello Everybody
My Brother in law and sister need to travel to India frequently. Their nature of work(offhsore) requires their stay in India for more than 6 months a year and they need to work in US too. They have green card. My questions are:
1) can they keep travelling like this every yeaar(this is not a personal visit, they are travelling becoz their work demands so.)
2) does the six months clock reset every time they re-enter us?
3) At the port of entry is it enough if they produce valid tax returns and letters form employer about their need to be in India for such a long duration
4) can they apply for re-entry permit and leave to india(is it ok if we can post the re-entry permit to India) or do they have to stay in US till the permit is approved and they receive one.

Thanks alot for answering the questions

1) Yes, the 6 months clock gets reset every time you reenter. But if you re-enter a frequently after 6 months stay abroad, you would likely be questioned a lot more at the POE. The burden of proof that you haven't abandoned the PR status is always on you.

2) You can apply for the re-entry permit and leave for India, and request USCIS to send the approved re-entry permit to the Embassy/nearest Consulate in India. After you get the notice from the Embassy/nearest Consulate, you can personally go and pick it up.
