Maintaining GC

My wife and child may have to go to India and spend about 5 months there due to personal reasons. My child is a citizen and wife got her GC along with me about 1.5 yrs back. My question is to whether she will have any problems on her return at immigration. What kind of questions should she expect if any.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ginnu,

Child has an Indian visa. My next question is if we need to extend their trip max. to 8/9 months will it still be OK.

Thanks once again.

------------------- That is ok but stay out of US more than 6 months may break the continued residence requirement for citizenship
Thanks once again.
