Where to apply? Petitioner, FL - Spouse, GA

I'm helping a friend of mine.

She's married to a US born citizen who lives in Florida. But my friend is going to school in GA. I was looking at timelines of Jacksonville and Atlanta, they are pretty close.

Since the school has just started, she can't take a break to go to Jacksonville for her FPs. Since interview is very important, she'll definitely make appropriate arrangements.

Can you guys please advise whether they can apply under Atlanta jurisdiction rather than Panama City. Her husband is planning to move but don't know the when.

Thanks for the info.

All applications go to the Chicago Lockbox, USCIS will decide based on the address given on the forms which DO processes the application. The only way you can pick where things are processed is by moving.

If the I-485 applicant wants to be processed in Georgia, the best way to do that is to put a Georgia address on the I-485.

Thanks bud.

For I-130, both of them come under the same service center, TSC.

Since it's concurrent processing, they are lil confused.

For I-485, does the petitioner has to live under ATL jurisdiction for 3 months?

Is the system so flexible that if at least one of them (Petitioner or Beneficiray) resides in the preferred DO jurisdiction, they can request the interview at that DO?

I know, I'm just rewording my question differently though it is same as before.

They don't fall under the TSC any more. All AOS (concurrent or not) is processed by the National Benefits Center in Missouri now, and then transferred to the local district office for the final interview/processing.

I don't believe there is any time limit on how long you'd have to live somewhere to fall under a DO's jurisdiction.

As I said before, they can't "request" where their interview is. Interview will be based on the mailing address given on the I-485. Note that USCIS expects that couples will live at the same address, so in living apart they may be put through the ringer.

I still find it interesting why some people on this website mention if the US citizen is naturalized or US born. A US citizen is a US citizen for crying out loud.

I wouldn't suppose he would be running for president now would he?
