What does it mean ? -- "Background investigation" --

I put up an enquiry for my case ( I-485, Received date September 15, 2003)
I received the reply...

The status of this service request is:

Is there any one who can decode this message of my pending I-485, Please?
What can it be?

You are stuck in what is called the FBI name check. Google it, you'll probably find some information about it.

Try searching for it on this website, there's been quite a few threads about it, and about how to fight it. Good luck
