Originals with original signature, I believe.
You could keep the copies.

I think you should send all the originalls with the necessury fees/photos and supporting docs and make copies for your own records. I do not recall actually sending any copies together with the originals, since they all go to the same location...

Sorry, didn't understand. I am sending my original I-485 with all supporting documents and other forms (I-864, etc). But, I am also submitting I-130, I-131, and I-765. So, for the supporting documents for I-765 and I-131 do I need to send a copy of the original I-485 and a copy of the original I-130?

Not if you're filing concurrently (as per your case).

I sent a copy of the 130 attached to the 485. I was thinking it's kind of silly to send a copy of the original that I am also sending with the same package, but that is what the instructions said.

you do not need to attach copies. apparently, sarrebal and myself did not attach any copies of the forms and we were fine (initially eveything has been accepted and no RFE), however I am sure if you attach a copy and they do not need it, they are not going to turn you down or anything. So I don't really think its that important

Instructions do say to attach a copy of approval of petition.
In our case we're filing concurrently because our priority is immediate.
IMO, no need to attach a copy.

You do need to attach a copy of pending I-485 receipt when you file for I-765 & I-131 after you filed for AOS.

sarrebal, it sounds logic to me what you say. I got confused because of that phrase ... "evidence..." so my only evidence of AOS would be copies of the other forms... but it sounds silly to send copies of original I am sending at the same time... same package

Well....
In theory, if you want to waste time, you could just send an I-130 petition now and wait for it to be approved.

Then you could file for AOS and at that point you must attach a copy of your I-130 approval.

But it doesn't make any sense.

Send all together, I485, I130, I131, I765 and supporting docs, all originals. Keep copies for yourself.

Nancy,

Looks like you need more confirmation on this issue. So here it is:
Right! Right! Right! No copies if you're filing concurrently!

Nancy-
see attached! this is how we did it, We organised each form + supporting documents with a cover sheet describing what form and support documents were included (See attached) we also attached seperate check for each form

We attached the forms and support documents in File folders using ACCO fasteners & Two-hole punched the top of the material for easy placement in the file folders ( 2 hole punch the top of papers)

Each folder was labeled as to which form was inside, then we included a cover letter ( attached) & mailed them all to the Chicago Lockbox.

Organization is KEY! It should be easy for USCIS to see what forms you file and keep them all togther with your case.

Our case so far is going smoothly we have not had any delays or RFE's

each cover sheet to each form has our name/ address and contact info.
