I think my lawyer is screwing me around on my wife's CR1 visa.
I thought that after the I-130 was approved, that I would receive a bill for the I-864 processing and my wife would receive a DS-3032 so that she could choose and agent and get her bill for processing the visa and other related papers.
What actually happened was I recieved an email from my attorney telling me he had recieved both bills for the I-864 and visa processing. I went ahead and gave him the money to pay them, but, then sent him and email asking what happened to the DS-3032 and how was I sure that she was going to receive her correspondance at the correct address. He replied stating "The agent address is not your wife's. I'm the attorney of record, so, everything is coming to me" and never mentioned the DS-3032. Then he says "We should be shortly receiving a packet with forms that your wife will need to sign" Why do I want the packet of forms for my wife sent to me? Then I will have to turn around and send them to her. All this I see as an delay. And what happened to the DS-3032 that I never got an answer about? I have a bad feeling about my lawyer now and feel that he is not being honest with me. Any ideas or anyone know what happened to the DS-3032 that was supposed to be sent before I got the bill for visa processing or why all my wife's papers are now being sent to my lawyer here in the States?

Your attorney is stating that probably the DS3032 is not needed as Everything will be going to his office as it is the address of record You should call your attorney instead of corrsponding via e-mail, you will need to tell him that your wife is in China and ask him how he suggests she get the signed forms and return them?
The DS 3032 is simply a from signed by your wife to designate a represenative & Address for all future communications and correspondances. I think his reponse was regarding your inquiry about the DS3032, it doesn't seem like he is screwing around with you, it does seem as though there is a communication breakdown between the two of you, which can happen via e-mail if the e-mails are presumptive and vague. When ever you use an attorney everything from the USCIS will go to the Attorney first, since the law office is your representative of record & will receive all notices and correspondances, I suggest you pay the attorney fees and then make out a seperate check to to NVC for filing fees,Ask the attorney to fax you a copy of the NVC bill! The canceled personal check serves as another record for your case. see the link below for info on the NVC visa processes http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigra...s_1315.html#6b It would be ideal if USCIS & NVC would send everything to you instead of to your attorney then you. The disadvantage of dealing with an attorney is all this delay, it would have been easier if you did things yourself and had everything mailed to you! As the process takes long enough without them sitting on your case! Stay on top of them to keep things rolling. I would look at the official USCIS & NVC web pages or other questions www.uscis.gov http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigra...ypes_1309.html
