Is Notice Date or Received Date = PRIORITY DATE?
My friend's case is under Family Based 1st category with Received date late-August 2001 and Notice Date mid-September 2001. On the I-130 NOA, the "Priority Date" box is empty.
Any idea which one is the correct priority date? My friend is concerned 'coz the RD and ND were 20 days apart and he's worried if these 20 days would make him wait for another year and year!

I don't know if it helps, but on my interview letter the Received Date and my Priority Date are the same: 26th March 2006.
I'm married to a USC, I don't know if there is a difference. But my guess would be Received Date = Priority Date. |

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the Notice Date = Priority Date.

That's what I thought too, but on my letter it's the Received Date. Don't know what's right.

Here is the correct answer
Receive Date = Priority Date
Your friend's case has not got approved by USCIS; therefore the priority date box is empty. USCIS will send an approval notice (I-797C) after his petition gets approved. good luck |
