DS-2001 documents when recipient is overseas

Hi everyone

I would be grateful if someone who has gone through the process could explain how the DS2001 documents works, when the recipient is overseas.

My understanding is that the petitioner forwards the affidavit of support and also a fee of $380 to process the petition to interview. The petitioner will then receive the DS230I part 1 to complete together with the DS2001 form. The instructions advise that the DS230 and DS2001 should be forwarded to the NVC but no documents as these will be required at the interview. As the interview is overseas, I take it that my wife will have to send all the documents to me for the interview?, or is she expected to fly overseas and attend?. I appreciate that to some the answer may seem obvious, however, nothing is stated regarding this and my experience with the services explaining requirements so far, doesn't fill be with confidence.
