it seems now you will get the receipts within 2 weeks, from my own experience and reading other people's timeline.

Oh you haven't had the medical done yet?? And you sent in all your forms already? You were supposed to get it done before and submit the results with your application. You'll probably get an RFE requesting it.

If you're in my same situation (AOS) you should schedule an appt with a uscis doctor right away so that you can have it ready for when you receive the RFE you can send it back right away. The waiting time to get an appt can go from days to weeks and then you have to wait few days for the results.

Not submit with the application or not submit at all? I was told by my attorney just to bring it to the interview.

Attorneys should know this better. You should know it too as it is mentioned in the I-485 instructions and also here...

If you are sending your application to the chicago lock box, I-693 SHOULD be sent with the I-485.

Why is it that from what I read on this website, attorneys more often than not give out wrong advice to their own clients?

I mean it might be considered normal for them to get it wrong sometimes, but more often than right? Common AOS cases should be easy money for them. I'm willing to do it for anybody that would give me $500 I believe that's cheaper than the going rate for lawyers
