Divorce or death b4 filing I -751

If you divorce or your USC spouse dies b4 u r eligible to file i-751, Would you be approved? How does that work?

I know this is not an answer and hope someone will give you a more clear scenario. I have a friend whose husband died less than a year after they got married. She filed the I-751 by herself and the CIS have been giving her extensions ( I think 2 by now) of her GC, but no other answer yet. Good luck!

This forum is getting creepy

On a different thread a guy is saying that his wife from Colombia (and God knows who & what else) came her using a false passport, now we face the question what happens if the spouse "dies"

I hope I'm not going to see the members of this forum in John Walsh's "America's most wanted" show.

You'd file a waiver of the joint requirement for form I-751. In the case of divorce you file once the divorce is final. You do have a requirement to prove that the marriage was genuine.
