Delay on the EAD affect the other applications?

Hi people,

Just got today a letter requesting more information, they requested a translation of my birth certificate that is brazilian, and they also informed that im inelegible for employment authorization until 90 days after receiving the missing initial evidence. I'm actually sending it back tomorrow. The question is: does that affect the travel document, and delays the whole process for 90 days too? thats sad, 3 more months stuck in the house.

thanks.
ian

same thing happened to me. I sent the request for RFE right away and I don't think it delayed the process. I just got my EAD today (65 days after my ND) that is pretty average.....
I don't know about travel document though, that was never my priority!

90 days is when you can go to the local office to get EAD if it is not approved till then. Usually after RFE your case will be processed in 20 days.

all the ducks need to be in a row....send in the translation it probably needs to be notorized i think ?the I-131 takes the shortest amount of time to process however its based on your status, you may not be out of status more than 180 days from the time the I-94 expired search for "TRAVEL WARNING" in fact i think its 180 days from before the I-94 was issued, and still thats a risk a big risk i filed 174 days late and still applied for I-131 do you think ill use it if i get approval ,probably not , its better that when you travel the I-94 is still valid or you could trigger 3/10 year ban, good luck

Hope for my RFE

Thanks for the encouraging news! I was geting a little depressed because I got that dreaded yellow form saying I needed to submit more information for the RFE of my I-485.

90 days seemed too long but after your posts I now have hope that my EAD may come sooner than 3 months. I agree that that this is way better than spending money on a fancy lawyer This forum makes me feel that I'm not alone in my quest for the elusive GC, makes the whole immigration process less confusing. Thanks again!

Yes, I got the yellow letter that said that I wans't eligible fot interim employment until 90 days after the RFE, or something like that... But apparently it didn't hurt my application at all. Like Eric said: "all the ducks need to be in the row" Comply with EVERYTHING and chances are it will be fine. I have no complaints whatsoever so far, well, 1 complaint... the online update should be more accurate.

yea, I totally agree. I don't like the waiting game either. the daily rush to check the mail for the EAD is starting to bother me. Oh well, they say patience is a virtue so....
