approved?

after aos interview a week ago, I received a letter called "notice of approval of relative immigrant visa petition" saying the visa petition has been approved. because I missed a fingerprint appointment in 2005, a new fingerprint appointment comes with the approval letter. is it normal? can I get my passport stamped based on this letter?

You need to get your FP's done.
What they tell you at the interview? you were approved? If that so, then you are okay. Sometimes people received the approval of the I-130 after that and then the welcome letter.
The "relative immigrant visa petition" is the I-130.

Hi,cherr1980, thanks for your input. the officer didn't say whether I'm approved or not during the interview. after one week, I got this letter and fingerprint appointment. does it mean that my interview is approved and case pending for name checking or background checking?

Uhmm normally the officer said something, like pending or approved.
Well, I think that you are approved and after you make your FP's you probably will have an update on your case, but I am not sure...sorry
