How long is the N400 process?

I plan of filing for US Citizenship (N400). I have three questions that I'm hoping you can help me with.

1. I can file 3 years from what date?

a. from the date stamped on my visa at the port of entry
b. from the date that my green card was issued

2. Somebody told me that I can file 2 years and 9 months from a certain date (a or b from question 1). Is this true? Or, do I have to wait atleast 3 years from the date the green card was issued?

3. Once we do file the N400, how long will it be until the N400 is approved? What is the normal processing time? Can you give me a rough estimate? Thanks.

If you look on your green card, there are two dates - Residence Since, and Card Expires. You can apply 2 years and 9 months from the Residence Since date, if you are married to a US Citizen and meet the residency requirements.

The green card issue date is not relevant at all.

Depends on where you live.
