I got my green card, what's the next step?

Hello. I am a US citizen. My wife is not. However, she just got her green card and we're really happy about that.

My question is, what's the next step in the process for her to become a US citizen? In other words, we have her green card, now what?

I'm trying to avoid any future surprises (for something that I should have been preparing for right now). So, I really appreciate any advice you can provide. Thank you.

1. How does she get a social security card? Will they automatically mail her one or do I have to take her to a local city hall to fill out the form?

2. So the next form I have to fill out is the N400, in about 3 years, is that correct?

You need to visit a local SSA office.

Only if the marriage was more than 2 years old at the time she became a permanent resident.
