Wife of a gc holder in India

For a GC holder in the US if he marries a girl in India then

1. How soon can the girl come to US after getting married to the gc holder
2. How or what petition needs to be filed to bring the girl to US
3. Once the girl comes to US can she legally start working in the US?

Pls answer the above queries , will really appreciate your quick replies. Really imp for us to get answers to the above queries.

Hi, you probably will be able to be a USC during the waiting time and then upgrade your petition.
1. Since you are a GC holder, your wife must wait for a visa number, please check the Visa Bulletin at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bu...etin_2712.html. For India she and you must wait (if you apply now) probably 5 to 6 years since the date right now is on Dec01.
2. You must file after you got married the I-130 that is petition of an alien relative. You must submitted with the supportive documents. For more information please check www.uscis.gov
3. If she waits for her permanent resident visa through Consular Processing, yes she will be able to work once she comes to the US.
You can make a search in this forum since those questions (especially from India) have been answered over here many times. The first step is to learn the process and read carefully all at www.uscis.gov (US Citizenship and Immigration Services).
Good luck,
