I751 possible interview/LPR spouse says will not go to interview? Does US spouse go

A friend of mine has recently filed the I751 with his wife. the wife said,
if there was an interview, that she would not go. (she is the alien). Told
her husband, he could go by himself! This seems to be some crazy thinking
to us. So, if the filing went okey and got approval by mail, then all would
be just fine. If not, then she said, she would just disappear and just not
do anything. Seems like this is "questionable behavior on her part".... we talked
with them and thought that even though "would disappear" that all paper
work filed in her case would "still be on file"....and would come up sooner
or later. So, i guess this would be abandoment of status including her
US husband.......... maybe she has another plan but not saying anything.....
any guesses!!!
