Pre-approved labor

Somebody please enlighten...am real desperate:

1. How can I use a pre-approved EB2 labor cert?
2. Do I really need to work for this company that has a pre-approved labor or can I continue to work with my existing employer?
3. What other documentation will be required at a later date?
4. Is this legal?

I have a priority date from a previously approved I-140. I have started my GC process again from scratch. Do I need to fight for the retention of priority date at the time of filing my labor under the PERM process or I can get labor cleared and then during the filing of I-140 fight for the retention of my old priority date.
