Coming to US after gc approval at consulate

My dad was approved for his gc at the consulate in Chennai (sponsored by my sister who is US citizen-IR5 category)
He needs to wrap matters up in India and needs some time before he can come here.
Does anyone know if there is a time limit before he makes his trip here (eg 6 months or a year)?
Thanks in advance,
P. Nayar

How long did it take to get a GC for your Dad?

Could you please explain a bit about the process?

process

My sister did all the paperwork as she is the sponsor.
It took about 2.5 years.
I will ask her the details and let you know.
