What will happen if give up citizenship ?

this might be asked before, but i could not find the thread.
If GC holder become US citizen and then give it up to get back to
the citizenship of the original country, what will happen to legal status
of this person ?
Does s/he go back to GC automaticaly or lose all the legal status in the US
unless s/he applied for non-immigrant visa ?

Thanks,
So, basically, if they gave up US citizenship and they want to be permanent
resident, they has to reapply for GC from scratch again. IS that correct ?

Can US born citizens who gave up citizenship apply for a US green card?

I think there is a loophole in thel aw that make it impossible.
The immigration law do not give immigration quota to
US-born aliens because it was once assumed everyone
born in the USA would be US citizen rest of their lives.

But there are many loopholes for US born aliens
to use too. To get a job, etc only birth certificate
is required. I don't think birth certificate will
be recalled if a US born person give up his US citizenship.

If someone wants to renounce the US citizenship, wouldn't the person had taken the citizenship of another country by that time? If that's the case then, you may have been born in the US, but are a citizen of another country so you will have apply for a visitor's visa or green card as a citizen of that country.

If you haven't taken the citizenship of another country, then I am not sure if it's possible to renounce your US citizenship. If it is, then you are becoming stateless by choice!

I wonder if a person in the military can do that to avoid a dangerous
military mission.
