Re Entering USA on Passport Stamp..

Folks,
Hope this is the right place to ask this Q and I am hopeing that I will get some informationb about this Q.

I got my GC approved on Dec 16th 2004.I got my passport stamped on Dec 23rd and then went to india on Dec 28th 2004.

I came back to US on Jan 28th and everything wen on smoothly, they kept me in a different room and checked my details in a system and then Returned my Passport saying "you are all set", very soomth process , Besides the fact that They never put a stamp on my passport saying "admitted" "arrived" on this date or anything of that sort.

My Q is that is this a normal process? or this is a mistake, if this is a mistake from there side then it is funny because after that I crossed three registers and no one asked me anything.

But also if this is not usual process and there is a mistake then what should I do to fix it? should I contact INS?

Once again, thanks a bunch for reading this and I am hoping 5o get some insight on this issue.

thx

Joe,
thx buddy, I was kind of surprised because they stamped another guy's passport who was in same situation.

Thx for your advice about keeping track of Travel dates, yes that make sense, I should do it though citizen ship is almost 4 yrs away.

thx once again.

Manoj
