Moving to US from Canada
Hello, I would like to know what documents I need for my pending move from Canada to US. Plan to drive a uhaul truck across the border. I assume that will work out the cheapest (got a quote for CAD$511). It's only my personal stuff and the only electronics item I have is a 27" TV. The rest are furniture and a few boxes. What forms do I need to fill out? Thanks in advance.

Tarnatula, you are assuming that we can read your mind.
"What forms do I need to fill out?" That all depends on who you are. If you are a US citizen, then all you need to fill out is the customs form. |

Sorry folks, I should have mentioned that by then I would have my US GC (Indian citizen). I got lost looking at the forms on customs.gov. Do I need any forms crossing into the US? Thanks for your replies.

mdh,
Thanks for your reply. I did look at 3299 and don't think that's needed. Form No. 3299 (Declaration for Free Entry of Articles Not Accompanying a Resident or Non-Resident.) I will be driving the goods across the border. 3299 looks like it's for importers/moving companies. I may have to call customs at the border and find out. |
