Can I open a C Corp on F1? Please help.
Dear All,
I am on a student visa in the US. I have a SSN and EAD to work on campus. I am planning to open a C corporation in CA. However, I have no intentions whatsoever of providing services or getting compensated in any way. My sister-in-law will be taking care of all the decision making as well as the operations. I will, however, be selected as the CEO, CFO, secretary, and officer in the Articles of Incorporation. My concern is: will I be penalized in any way? Can the USCIS revoke my visa? Should I sign a volunteer services agreement? Is it legal for me to receive divindends if the company makes a profit? PLEASE HELP. Hope to hear from you soon!!!! Thanks!
