Time for SSN after stamping.
Hi,
Today my wife got her passport stamped with I-551 and applied for SSN.How much time does SSN take to come.Can she work without an SSN as now she is a legal permanent resident.

FP done on Feb 2nd ,2005
LUD on I-140 is 02/18/2005.
LUD on I-765 is 03/02/2005
EAD Approved on 03/08/2005
I-140 approved on 3/16/2005
I-485 approved on 03/31/2005
Passport I-551 stamped on 5/5/2005
Received my physical card on 06/10/2005
Waiting for my wife's physical card

Normally it takes between 1-2 weeks.

Yes, she can work. However, as she does not have SSN, probably her employer won't be able to put her in payroll until she get her SSN.
