re-entry to US with a Green Card

This might be a silly question, but still wanted to ask, given the criticality.
I am a US permanent resident. I am visiting India since December 03, 2004. I am returning on May 26th 2005. This is about 175 days being out of the country.

Based upon this, these are my questions.

1. Do I need a re-entry permit ?
2. Are there any risks in hitting it so close to 180 days.

I really appreciate your feedback

No, you don't need re-entry permit if you are sure that you are going to comeback in 175 days.

It totally depends on your intent. If you are coming back after a loooooog vacation of 175 days, you are perfectly fine. But, if there is any sign that indicates that probably you abandoned your PR status (e.g. you started a new job in India; you didn't file 2004 tax return; you don't have home/apartment in USA), then yes your GC can be in risk.
