Do not come back with a lot of DVDs and CDs of movies manufactured
without consent of original producers

Is there any custom law that prohibit getting pirated copies in USA? I am not aware of any rule like that or never heard of any incident. I heard in France customs does that. In fact I know a person who had to pay hefty fine in Paris airport for carrying a "made in china" Louis Vuitton bag

By international treaty, a country is supposed to protect intellectual
property of other countries as well. so you can still get into trouble
by carrying large amounts of pirated Chinese movies. If US custom
do not care, then make complain to CHinese embassy and ask them
to lodge a protest against US government for not cracking down
on infrinfgemtn upon Chinese IP.

But pratically , you can imagine US custom are undersatandbly much
lackadisccal about other countries's IP being violated than their
own IP. Beside, it may also be harder to examine other countries products

DVD, VCD, and CD's

I went to China and Malaysia and came back with
about 20 DVD's, VCD's and CD's.
Some were legal, some were not.

All the Customs officer asked me was,
"do you have any fruits, vegetables or meat?"
I said, "nope", and he said, "welcome to USA"

I agree with AmericanWannabe, and I have heard of Movie/Music industry efforts to crack down on piracy.

If I had even thought about attempting to bring CDs/DVDs after knowing the tip, I would seriously get a second person on all decisions I ever make because that is telling me something is wrong with my thought process !
