Forms and procedure for GC for parents ..

Hi, this has probably been discussed before, if so please direct me to the appropriate thread ..

My friend recently got naturalized and needs to get green cards for his parents.

1) Is it better for his parents to be here, or back in his home country prior to filing anything. His parents have a business thats hard to leave for about 6 months.

2) Which forms exactly and what documents should be filed for each parent.

3) If anyone has gone through this, please explain the stages, and general process.

ya, we've already read all that .. but it's still not clear to me ..
if you can answer my questions specifically, that would help ...

if someone has gone thru the process already, it'll help ...
